Preparing for Contact is a space to explore the psychological and spiritual resilience needed to navigate profound shifts in our sense of reality—specifically as we adapt to the realization that we are not alone in the universe or even within our own world.

When my understanding of reality changed suddenly and dramatically, it felt as if the rug had been ripped out beneath me. I was confronted with a reality that challenged what I believed about life in the universe and humanity’s place within it.

What followed was not simply an intellectual search for answers, but a profound period of rethinking, developing discernment, regaining stability, and finding a stronger inner sense of direction. This experience led me to question assumptions I had long held. Out of that journey, Preparing for Contact was born.

I am not a researcher, a scholar, or an authority on anomalies. I do not bring data, classified leaks, or academic theories. I am someone who experienced a sudden, radical shift in my understanding of reality, went through the upheaval of integrating it, and learned to find solid ground again. My focus is not on proving what is out there, but on how we adapt to a larger reality.

A Social Work Perspective

I have a Master of Social Work degree and have spent my professional life working with people experiencing profound change, vulnerability, illness, loss, and death. My work has included hospitals, nursing homes, home care, and hospice. I have always felt a desire to be of service in some way, and social work became one expression of that.

The ethical principles of the social work profession have also deeply influenced how I approach this work.

Social work recognizes the inherent dignity and worth of every person, the importance of human relationships, our responsibility to address social problems and injustice, and the right of people to participate meaningfully in the decisions that affect their lives.

Central to this is the principle of self-determination—the right of people to make their own choices and determine their own direction.

I believe this principle becomes especially important as we consider humanity’s encounter with intelligent life beyond our world.

Contact is not only a question of whether other intelligent life exists. It raises deeper questions about influence, relationship, freedom, choice, and our ability to determine our own future.

How do we remain open to a larger reality while retaining our discernment? How do we recognize when our choices are being influenced? How do we preserve our individual and collective self-determination when encountering an intelligence more technologically advanced than our own?

For me, these are not abstract questions. They are deeply human ones.

A Stronger Inner Foundation

I know what it feels like when your understanding of the world suddenly shifts. I also know that finding stability requires more than gathering information. It calls for discernment, humility, courage, and a deep, ongoing relationship with one’s inner life.

Over the years, I discovered that the most important questions were not simply "What is happening?" or "What should I believe?" Instead, other questions arose:

How do I stay grounded while remaining open to challenging new information?

Am I willing to rethink unquestioned beliefs when the ground beneath my understanding is radically shifting?

How do I maintain mental clarity, discernment, and personal sovereignty in the face of an extraterrestrial reality?

Those questions continue to shape how I think.

Rather than telling people what they should believe, Preparing for Contact invites internal inquiry, caution, discernment, and the cultivation of qualities that can help us when familiar assumptions no longer hold.

Whether that shift begins with a burning question we can no longer ignore or a confrontation with a greater cosmic reality, we do not have to navigate these changes alone.
